People Are Reselling Their “Rare” Pokemon Oreos Online for Thousands of Pesos

It started out as a joke but it seems that some people are trying to make some serious money by reselling their special Pokemon Oreos on auction sites for exorbitant prices.

If you haven’t heard, Oreo released special edition Pokemon cookies wherein customers will randomly get a few out of 16 designs in total in each Oreo pack. Some Pokemon Oreo cookies you may find are Pikachu, Charmander, Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and the most sought-after Mew!

Since the company predicted that people might hoard tons of these special edition Oreo packs, they limited purchases to a maximum of three per customer. As a result, individuals have begun posting listings of the Pokemon Oreo cookies that others might not have gotten in their haul on eBay which go as low as USD 5 (~Php 250) and as high as USD 2,225 (~PHP 112K)!

And if you think no one is insane enough to place bids on these expensive listings, think again—because this Mew Oreo that is currently going for USD 2,225 already has 6 bids and 70 watchers. Yeah, we can’t believe it either!

The special edition Pokemon Oreo packs will only be around for a limited time and aren’t being sold locally in the Philippines.

Do you think it’s worth it to bid on these cookies just because it has Mew’s face on it? Or would you rather spend your hard-earned money on other Pokemon collectibles? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
