Singer and record producer Park Jin-young, known professionally as J.Y. Park, is stepping down as internal director at his own company JYP Entertainment.

On March 10, JYP Entertainment confirmed the news in an official statement.
“Park Jin-young will not undergo the reappointment process for internal director at the shareholders’ meeting scheduled for March 26th of this year,” JYP Entertainment said in a statement, according to a report published by The Chosun Daily.
The agency added that the record executive will focus on his creative work as an artist while also mentoring younger performers and taking on other K-pop-related industry tasks.
Park Jin-young, who co-founded JYP Entertainment in 1997 and served as its internal director, will remain with the company as founder and chief creative officer.
As a co-founder of JYP, he developed and managed numerous K-pop artists, including 2PM, Twice Stray Kids, Day6, and Nmixx, among others.
