Paire had prepared a dazzling lineup of appetizers, fillers, main courses and desserts for us. They explained that all of the food that they serve in their restaurant are made from scratch, right down to the dips and sauces. Everything is always served fresh and with lots of love.
While looking around, they served us ‘Pandan Iced Tea‘ (P100), which is special because it isn’t like your ordinary run-off-the-mill iced tea loaded with sugar. The Pandan Tea felt very soothing and cooling as soon as we took a few sips – avery refreshing drink, especially during the current blazing summer season.
The first dish we had was a family recipe called ‘Ligid‘ (P185), which is a cross between liempo and chicharon. “Oh no, it’s pork!”, one might proclaim. But guys, you really gotta try this! This is a miracle dish because it has zero greasiness and the oil was well-drained. It has a well-balanced combination of crunchiness and softness and the vinegar really goes well with it, too. This scrumptious pair is best enjoyed by soaking the Ligid on the vinegar dip for a minute until the flavor infuses, and then tap off the excess before chewing it slowly in your mouth.Â
For our fillers, we got a whopping ‘Fish & Chips‘ (P290). The fish fillet had a very creamy texture that melts in your mouth, and we found out they use Cream Dory for it. As for the chips, you will get thinly sliced potatoes and crispy fries. This set is paired with a very flavorful sour cream dip. Go for the fish first then the fries, or go for the fries first then the fish. The choice is yours!
