The next 3 dishes are from their ‘Carnival‘ theme, which was created for the Valentine season. The first of the dishes from their Carnival theme is called ‘Ring Master‘ (Taco Salad), paired with gelatin-cheese appetizers. The Taco Salad is a bite-sized monster that has lettuce, slices of cheese, tomato bits, and olives in it. Hold your breath, take a big bite and taste the pickle-olive flavor merging with the savory taste of cheese and the fresh flavor of the lettuce. Mmmm… no sauce necessary!
For the main course, they served us with the ‘Jumbo‘. It’s another monster from the Carnival theme loaded with the fulfilling flavors of its soft Fish Fillet, Beer-Marinated Chicken Wings, well-cooked Rice, Baked Tomato, and Butter Popcorn Sauce. You might notice that the rice was molded into a heart shape, fitting for the recent Valentine’s season. But Valentine’s or not, this main course is a great way to spend a very romantic date with.
The last dish from the Carnival theme is called ‘Bravado‘. It consists of vanilla ice cream and fried oreos topped with pink cotton candy to complete the carnival theme. The fried oreos leave a very warm chocolate flavor on the mouth, which is perfectly complemented by the cool vanilla ice cream. “Choco na vanilla, vanilla na choco…” the argument just never ends, huh?
The last four dishes were all desserts. It just gets better from this point on. The first wine pairing consists of four different sets of cakes and wines: Pounds+White Wine, Lemon-Almond Cake+Sparkling Wine, Carrot-Walnut Cake+Chardonnay, and Chocolate Cake + Red Wine.
The ‘Pounds and White Wine‘ combo packs a very full-bodied flavor on the taste buds.
The second pair ‘Lemon-Almond and Sparkling Wine‘ has a very bright lemony theme to its flavor.
The third pair ‘Carrot-Walnut Cake and Chardonnay‘ leaves an earthy-nutty-flavored impression.
The last one ‘Chocolate Cake and Red Wine (Medium Sweet)” is simply smoky chocolate with the sweetness of red wine and is my favorite combination among them.
‘Almond Slice and Amaretto Sour‘ is probably the sweetest offering during our visit and is highly recommended for those with sweet tooth. The sweet and sour combination brought a smile on my face as soon as I tasted the pair. Take a small slice of the Almond Slice, sip a little of the Amaretto Sour and then chew sloooowly. You can feel that the squishy treat tastes even better the longer it lingers inside your mouth.
‘Spinach and Cheese + Sparkling Wine‘ in contrast, has a more mellow taste. It consists of 3 cheeses: Mozzarella, Parmesan, and Feta. Spinach is good for your health, but thankfully it doesn’t have to taste bad as Paire’s got it creatively figured for you.
Lastly, ‘Ben & Etta‘ is a great way to start your day or warm up on cold days. It consists of a warm chocolate drink topped with cream, Choco Chip Cookies, Snicker Dockers, and Sugar Cookies. Dip the cookies onto the drink like you would with Oreos. This is actually another family recipe and was named in honor of their grandparents.
It was a unique dining experience at Paire. The combinations were perfect, but I can’t resist naming a few favorites that day: the Chocolate Cake + Red Wine combo, Ligid, and Jumbo. You just gotta try them! I also can’t help but notice the ceramics that came along the themed menu. You can really see how much creativity and effort the Paire team put into their food.
I’d love to visit the place again and how about if we go there as a group? Don’t worry because Paire has 5 Gift Certificates up for grabs! To join this contest, just fill up the Rafflecopter widget below.
