Noah Cyrus opens up about growing up in sister Miley’s shadow

20-year-old singer Noah Cyrus was brought to tears while talking about growing up in the shadow of her older sister, Miley Cyrus. During an Instagram Live last week, the singer opened up about the lyrics of her song Young & Sad off her new EP, The End of Everything.

The song’s second verse goes, “My sister’s like sunshine / Always bringing good light wherever she will go / And I was born to rain clouds…Blessed in her shadows.” With this, Noah talked about how ‘unbearable’ it was growing up in her sister’s shadow.

She said, “I think just the message in the second verse, being born in the family I was in, everyone gave me such a hard time for having a hard time being Miley’s little sister.” She adds, “‘Because, that’s why everybody always says to me, that no matter what, I was going to be in that shadow.”

The singer said that the song is pretty tough to get through. She also said that she just wanted to open up about the topic once and for all, and probably won’t talk about it anymore.
