No More JoLai Comeback? Jelai Andres Enraged Over Alleged Cheating of Jon Gutierrez

Fans of Team JoLai, or Jon Gutierrez and Jelai Andres, had been enjoying the couple’s supposed reconciliation two years after they revealed that they have broken up following Jon’s alleged cheating. Hope for a “comeback,” as fans called it, then sparked a few months after their breakup when they had both made a guest appearance during fellow vlogger Zeinab Harake’s meet-and-greet event.

And as the two continued to make content together over the course of 2020, even starring in the currently-airing romcom series “Owe My Love,” it seemed like they truly were enjoying this second chance at their relationship.

Who knew that it was going to be this short-lived?

Rumors that the two were not on good terms yet again began when Jelai made a cryptic tweet at the start of March about how a person getting in the way of two people in a relationship is the “scummiest” and “most ignorant” person of all. The tweet is currently her pinned tweet on her social media account and currently has 10K retweets and 72K likes.

The actress continued to repost tweets regarding “Owe My Love” in the weeks that followed but, on the last weekend of March, Jelai’s sister Candy expressed anger in a Facebook post that was initially addressed to an unnamed person until she edited it to confirm that it was targetted towards Jon. Candy also tagged Jelai on the post.

Pag nag kasakit ka wag ka hihingi ng tulong sa family namin ha, mag patulong ka sa babae mo na pinagkatago tago mo kala mo naman hindi namin malalaman (If you get sick, don’t ask help from my family and approach your mistress instead, who you tried to keep secret from us as if we wouldn’t find out),” she said in the post.

Jon then went to the comments section to tell Candy, as well as the public, that his issues with Jelai “should be fixed privately” instead of posted on social media. The comment has since been deleted.

He did, however, post a Facebook status that read, “Buong pamilya yata gusto na maging vlogger at influencer eh. Di lahat ng bagay pinopost sa social media po. (It seems like the whole family wants to be a vlogger or influencer. Not everything should be taken to social media.)” Candy was blocked from commenting on his status, so she used Jelai’s account to fire back at him. Jelai herself also expressed her frustration, saying, “Nakakapagod [nang hindi] lumaban eh ako pa binabash ng sobra sobra at inaaway at sumasalo sa mga gawaing ikaw gumagawa. (I am tired of not fighting back, I’m the one being bashed and criticized and getting targeted for things you started.)”

Jelai then vented through multiple tweets about the situation, accusing Jon of buying expensive things for the alleged third-party, among many others. She also shared that she and Jon had even planned a comeback reveal after their lock-in taping for “Owe My Love” but, by the looks of it, Team JoLai is officially no more.
