Netizens weren’t too happy with the results of It’s Showtime’s “Tawag ng Tanghalan Ultimate Resbak” scores that led to the elimination of Mariane Osabel of Mindanao last Tuesday, September 11.
Mariane, who was beaten by fellow contestant Mariko Ledesma from Luzon in the singing contest, earned a combined score of 66.5% based on text votes and the judges’ scores while Mariko earned 83.74%.
When the breakdown of both scores was displayed, fans were shocked to find out that Mariane only received a score of 16.5% from the judges while Mariko was given 50%.
On Twitter, viewers aired out their frustrations over the judges’ decision and demanded an explanation for the dubiously low score given to Mariane. It’s for this reason that “JusticeForMariane” and “TNTUltimateResbakan” became top trending topics.

On her first statement, she told fans that she doesn’t have to show her scorecard to prove anything and asked them to respect the decision of her fellow judges. She stressed that even though Mariane was a talented performer, Mariko deserved her win that day.
Hindi ko kailangan pakita score ko kahit Di ganon kababa.. At respeto SA kapwa ko hurado Di ko rin tinatanong.. FYI pag May txt votes allowed kami na mag score from 0 to 100.. pero bottom line kahit napaka galing ni mariane talaga.. c mariko ang deserving TODAY.. yes TODAY ✌?☺️

K Brosas also lamented how people will complain regardless of the turnout of the scores. “Daming hanas pag mataas ang TXT VOTES,” she said. “PERO hanas pa din pag Natalo dahil mas mataas ang hurados scores kesa txt votes?”
She added that no bashing will change the outcome of the showdown between Mariane and Mariko. “Kahit ano pang sabihin nyo, wala na tayong lahat magagawa,” she shared.

She also retweeted a post expressing hope that Mariane would be given a second chance to prove herself worthy of winning the competition. K Brosas said regarding the tweet, “I honestly hope na sana meron nga.”
