On June 30, the Department of Tourism (DOT) announced that the National Museum of the Philippines (NMP) has inaugurated its newest regional component museum (RCM) in Baler.

“The NMP-Baler stands as a new cultural landmark dedicated to preserving and showcasing the province’s rich history and culture. It also forms part of the National Museum’s continuing efforts to make its collections, programs, and services more accessible for the communities across the archipelago,” DOT said in a Facebook post.

Visitors can freely enjoy galleries and exhibitions that highlight Aurora’s rich and diverse history, tradition, biodiversity, and artistic heritage. At the same time, they can learn about the country’s historical ties with Spain, as well as other selected works from the National Fine Arts Collection.

With the Baler launch, there are now three NMP branches in Metro Manila (Natural History, Anthropology, and Fine Arts), and 18 RCMs outside of Metro Manila.

The public may now visit the museum starting Wednesday, July 1, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
