There are many things to look forward to during the holidays: Christmas carols, seeing relatives we haven’t seen in a while, and the promise of a food-filled noche buena. But the best thing during Christmas? Our mom, and this tearjerker we discovered on YouTube shows us why.
The video is special because it takes us back to our childhood days when we still believed in Santa. We would marvel at the beautiful gifts we would receive, wondering how Santa managed to fit his heavy frame through our front door. Growing up, we would realize it was our mother, who tirelessly organized the noche buena and snuck in a gift or two for us.
As Christmas is approaching, I am inspired to give back to show gratitude for everything my mom has done for me. It’s easy to buy her an expensive gift, but knowing mothers, they would appreciate something simple and heartfelt.
I’m thinking of preparing macaroni salad like in the video.
