Would you stay off social media for six whole years if someone paid you Php90,000?

In an article by CNN, they share the story of Lorna Goldstrand Klefsaas who challenged her then-12-year-old son, Sivert Klefsaas, to stay off social media until his 18th birthday for $1,800 (roughly Php93,000). Back in 2016, Sivert recalls that he thought it was an awesome idea and agreed to it. He has since claimed his prize on February 19, 2022.

Since he was 12 and wasn’t really on social media at the time, Sivert says life without social media wasn’t that hard and admits he didn’t even think about it a lot throughout the challenge. Might be a good idea to start weaning our kids off social media before they become teenagers? Hmm…
