When in Manila, MEG Magazine celebrated their 14th anniversary last June 21, 2012 in 7th High, Bonifacio Global City—where the party was decked with the city’s young, hip and sizzling crowd. Everyone was encouraged to come in different shades of red, representing the magazine’s passion, love and fierceness.

The party took inspiration from the classical period of the Victorian era, bringing the MEG woman back to a time of evident romance and elegance—which explains the Victorian photo frames decorating the entire venue. The host of the evening and of the imminent “I AM MEG: Own the World in Style” reality show, Patty Laurel, welcomed guests and introduced MEG’s Associate Publisher and Deputy Editor, Dazzle Ng (who happens to be my teammate in ultimate frisbee!), and Editor-at-Large, Bianca Gonzalez.

The 12 finalists of “I AM MEG: Own the World in Style” were also unveiled, but since 14 is a special number for the brand, MEG surprised everyone by announcing that two more girls from the Top 30 semi-finalist roster would be joining the Top 12. These 14 candidates will all be part of the show, and are just one step closer to becoming MEG’s first ever Style Ambassador.
