Meet the Millennials Behind La Union’s Newest Co-Working Space

When I heard that a co-working space was opening in the surf town of San Juan, La Union; I couldn’t help but be thrilled! For someone like me who loves to catch waves, but also has deadlines to catch; this place is a godsend because most of the time, cafe customers do not appreciate seeing customers spending an hour or two on their laptops.

Take right now, for example. I’m currently writing this article at a cafe and I’ve been met with many uncomfortable stares. I get them. However, although I have a workstation at home, working a few steps away from my bed always ends in very long naps sometimes. Can you relate? Okay, enough with my rants as a freelancer! Let’s go back to how awesome this co-working space in La Union is.

We recently met the people behind the newest co-working space in La Union: Renz-Bhil Quiros, 24, Studio 22’s founder, Architect Kenneth Cariaga, Engineer Kevin Abad, both 25, and Vergel M. Ducusin, also, 25, the community manager of Studio 22. It’s always amazing to hear success stories from young people who are turning their dreams into a reality and who are helping each other move up. Without a doubt, Studio 22 is not just a place to “co-work”, but also a place to “co-inspire.”

Studio 22 offers “hot desks” that can be rented at Php60/hr (with a cup of coffee, tea, or fresh juice) or Php100/hr (with unlimited coffee, tea, or juice) for those who need a place to do some quick edits or add some final touches to their ongoing projects. They also have a day pass for Php500 (regular rate) or Php350 (student rate) for 8 hours (with unlimited coffee, tea, or juice and a locker) for those who want to get a lot of work done in a day.

Studio 22 also has meeting rooms that can fit up to 10 people. Rates start at Php800 per hour, but they’re currently offering a great discount for their launching promo! Here are their rates:

Desk availability is on a first come, first serve basis; but they also have membership rates that won’t break the bank. Meeting rooms are subject to availability and it’s best to contact them for reservations. The whole place is also perfect for events as it is strategically situated by the main road just a few steps away from the beach. Studio 22 is open from 9AM to 2AM everyday, and everyone is welcome to drop by.
