SORSOGON CITY, June 7 – A total of 243 residents of Brgy. Cabarbuhan, Bacon District received free healthcare services during MediKabikolan 2025, a medical and dental mission organized by UP Bugkos under its flagship initiative, the Tabang Bicol program.
The event marked the return of MediKabikolan after its last run before the pandemic. The mission brought together six doctors, two dentists, two dental assistants, and 27 medical volunteers who provided medical consultations, prescriptions, dental check-ups, and free medications.
“Our organization has always been committed and dedicated to giving back to the Bicolano community with purpose-driven programs such as this one,” said Event Co-head, Chastelle De Leon.
The event was conducted in partnership with local government units, barangay health workers, and civic groups, ensuring smooth operations and safe, community-centered care. The mission offered free X-ray services, tuberculosis testing, and HIV testing to the residents with the help of Cullion Foundation Inc. and St. Expeditus Medical Emergency Response Services (SEMERS) Sorsogon, respectively.
MediKabikolan 2025 was made possible through donations from individual and institutional supporters. UP Bugkos continues to welcome partners in sustaining its outreach missions.
“Padagos ang serbisyo para sa Bikolano,” Tabang Bicol 2025 Event Head Clarence Mari Ong said, affirming the organization’s commitment to accessible healthcare for their fellow Bicolanos.
