It seems that actress Maxene Magalona has officially confirmed the rumors that she is now separated from her husband, Rob Mananquil, after nearly a year of speculation.
In an Instagram post she shared on Friday, October 14, Maxene shared a picture of herself dining alone at a Korean restaurant, using her “trusty phone timer,” as she explained the “perks of being single and childless,” supposedly in reference to herself.
“No date? No problem! Perks of being single and childless: You have full control of your schedule. You can literally do anything you want on any day at whatever time,” she began.

“I watch movies in the cinemas alone, take myself out on dates and go on long solo drives especially when my vibration is low. One time, I even felt the sudden urge to buy crystals for extra protection and I was able to do it easily because I have no one else to think of but myself. Life is all about perspective. Do you see your glass half empty or half full? I see mine overflowing.”
This is the first time Maxene ever mentioned her relationship status since the breakup rumors began to spread. It was back in January when she surprised fans and followers by dropping her husband’s name from her Instagram handle and unfollowing him. Since then, Maxene would go on solo trips, share clips of herself meditating alone at home, and open up about her mental health. She has also time and time again reminded netizens to respect her privacy, especially with personal matters.
She flew back to Manila in March 2021 after being stranded with Rob in Bali, Indonesia during the COVID-19 pandemic. Rob reportedly stayed behind to pursue a career as a yoga instructor.
The two married in January 2018.
