President Rodrigo Duterte approved Matteo Guidicelli’s commissionship last August 7, allowing him to take his oath as a Second Lieutenant just this August 20. The ceremony took place at the Philippine Army headquarters in Fort Bonifacio. Upon taking the oath, he promised to “serve and protect my beautiful country to the best of my ability. ”
The Philippine Army’s statement explains that Guidicelli was recognized for his “volunteerism in using his influence to promote peace and impart patriotism especially to the Filipino youth in Mindanao region.” He also completed his Scout Ranger Orientation Course last June.
