A guaranteed hit: the gambas and chorizo

The 750-menu starts with gambas with chorizo. Of course, we all know that that’s going to be a hit. Who doesn’t like chorizo? I think that the unsung hero of this selection, though, is the Chicken Iberico. It’s chicken fillet sauteed and cooked with cloves of garlic.

Amaretto sour garnished with lemon peel and egg white froth

Thanks to Más Tapas’ very talented bartender, we were also fortunate enough to try a couple of their bestselling signature cocktails. The amaretto sour is, as its menu will tell you, delicious. Made with bourbon, disaronno amaretto liqueur, lemon juice, and bitter lemon spray as perfume; this cocktail is both delicious and aromatic.

Hijo de…!

The “Hijo de…” is a quirky signature cocktail made with honey, ginger syrup, grapefruit juice, and bourbon. Strong and spicy from the ginger syrup, there’s also a hint of fruity sweetness on the side that makes it an all-around drink for after work.

Sangria for sobremesa, anyone?

Moving on to the classics now. The sangria is made with fresh orange juice, red wine, and just a liiiittle brandy to help bring out the flavors. It’s so fragrant, you can smell the orange zest from the rim of the stemware. A squirt of sugar syrup takes the edge off of everything so you can continue your kwentuhan no problem.

A classic with a twist: gin and tonic garnished with fresh peppercorns and dill

Lastly, there’s the gin and tonic; it’s a timeless drink that Más wants to keep classic but fun. They use ordinary tonic but infuse the entire drink with fresh peppercorns and dill, just to add a little zest to it. It’s also garnished with lemon peel for fragrance.

What makes the bar scene at Más special is that it is so millennial. That’s not a bad thing – far from it! It’s fresh, young, and full of ambition. It’s a great place to spend the night, especially if you’re looking for good drinks and great conversation. Visit Más Tapas on a Friday night for delicious finger foods  to go with heartwarming sobremesa!
