What’s next after NCT? Mark Lee is never leaving the music scene anytime soon, now that he has launched his own label.

On June 3, the K-pop star shocked fans as he introduced his solo label “Upper Room.”

“A room, prepared before the name. Upper Room,” the caption read.
The name of his agency, as well as the teaser clips, seems to have biblical references to the Upper Room in the Bible—a room where Jesus and his disciples gathered for the Last Supper before His cruxificion.
Following the launch of his new label, fans immediately expressed their excitement for the K-pop star’s potential comeback to the music industry.

“Seeing you return with a new label and a new chapter makes me so happy. Wishing you nothing but success, happiness, and all the love you deserve. We’ll always be cheering for you!” one fan wrote.
“Mark, I’m so happy and proud of you!!! Good luck in all!!!” another fan commented.
In April 2026, Mark Lee announced his departure from SM Entertainment, which also marked the end of his activities as a member of NCT, as well as sub-units NCT Dream and NCT 127.
“I hope our next chapter together could be where we are all healthily smiling about our past, welcoming the present, and being excited for what’s to come,” the K-pop idol wrote in a heartfelt letter.
Debuted in 2016 under SM Entertainment, Mark Lee has been a well-known music artist and rapper. In 2025, he debuted his debut album “The Firstfruit.”
