When I visited Singapore last month, I was lucky enough to be able to stay at Marina Mandarin Singapore Hotel during my stay. Why “lucky”? Well, Marina Mandarin Singapore Hotel happens to be an award-winning 5-star luxury hotel and a proud recipient of the Luxury Business Hotel award at the World Luxury Hotel Awards 2013, Marina Mandarin Singapore Hotel was also awarded one of the Top 20 Luxury Hotels in Singapore in the 2012 Travelers’ Choice Award and the Certificate of Excellence for 3 consecutive years by TripAdvisor, crowned the winner of Outstanding Luxury and Outstanding Value categories at the HotelClub Hotel Awards 2011, and has won 6 platinum awards, including General Manager of the Year, at the Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards (HAPA) Regional 2011-2013. Whew! Talk about something to boast about!

When I first set eyes on Marina Mandarin Singapore Hotel, I knew from the start that I was set to experience nothing the best. The minute I walked in, everyone was friendly and helpful, showing me exactly where to go and answering all of my questions. The best part? It is only 15 minutes away from the airport and the city proper, so I didn’t waste much time between getting there and going back out to experience the city right away.

The hotels offers ultra convenient access to the Marina Square Shopping Mall, and is minutes away from Sands Expo & Convention Center and Suntec Convention & Exhibition Centre. It is also directly opposite The Esplanade, Singapore’s performing arts centre, and within walking distance to attractions such as Gardens by the Bay and the Singapore Flyer. It is perfectly situated right on the trackside of the annual Singapore Grand Prix Formula One race, as well.

Aside from that, Marina Mandarin Singapore hotel offers a breathtaking view of the Marina Bay and financial district from each of their rooms.

All rooms and suites are connected to wireless or broadband Internet access, as well, while the Meritus Club rooms and suites are equipped with a personal Nespresso coffee maker, six-jet power shower and a plush Simmons 13-inch pillow top mattress for a good night’s rest. I definitely never wanted to leave my bed during my stay there.

Boasting award-winning meeting facilities that spell stylish versatility and welcomed convenience, the grand, pillar-free Marina Mandarin Ballroom can accommodate up to 700 people and the elegant Vanda Ballroom allows for a sizeable group of up to 300. In addition, a series of 12 meeting rooms located on levels 1 and 6 can accommodate smaller business style gatherings. Every meeting and function space is enhanced with advanced audio-visual equipment and wireless or broadband Internet access.

The Atrium Lounge invites guests to relax amidst the chirping of Asian exotic birds with a wide selection of coffee, tea, specially concocted cocktails, and delectable homemade pastries and cakes. Songbirds are an Asian pastime and bird-keeping is an intricate part of Singapore’s culture and history. Marina Mandarin honours this tradition with prized songbirds such as Chinese Nightingale and Bulbur, well taken care of by professional bird keeper who attends to them daily.

The hotel’s 25-metre pool is full of mineral water, purified by the NASA (National Aeronautics & Space Administration) patented Carefree Ionisation system. They also have a 24-hour Fitness Centre with an extensive range of gym equipment for those in search of a good workout.

Besides the comforting rooms and amenities, Marina Mandarin Singapore Hotel also offers an excellent selection of dining options for the discerning diner. You will be spoilt for choice with the array of sensational Asian cuisine and International flavours that they have available at AquaMarine’s Halal-certified food stations from breakfast to dinner. You can even opt for a la carte selections if you’d prefer.

Other restaurants that you may try at the hotel include the award-winning Peach Blossoms, which serves authentic Cantonese food; Tsukiji SushiDai, where all of the ingredients are air flown from Tsukiji market in Tokyo; and Ruth’s Chris Steak House, where the finest custom-aged USDA prime beef can be found.

So, regardless of whether you are traveling alone or with a group, for business or for pleasure; Marina Mandarin Singapore hotel will be able to cater to all of your needs and provide you with limitless and unforgettable experiences whilst in Singapore. In fact, if the city wasn’t so beautiful and tempting, you might not want to leave the hotel at all. I didn’t leave the hotel at all on my last morning. In fact, I wouldn’t have gotten out of bed if the breakfast buffet wasn’t beckoning for me. :p It turns out ‘lucky’ was an understatement.
