Mapúa Frosh Week Celebration 2014
On July 14-19, 2014, roughly around 4000 freshmen students will gather to celebrate Frosh Week at Mapúa Institute of Technology.
Along with this week-long celebration, the Central Student Council, Council of Organizations, and Council of Presidents, the three highest student governing organizations in the Institute will be conducting different activities for fun and enjoyment of each and every freshmen student.
Some of these activities are Cardinal Rockfest, Mapúan Idol, TechnoPreneurship, and an Acquaintance Party to highlight the celebration. Cardinal Rockfest is a battle of the bands wherein students from Mapúa only will be allowed to participate in the contest. Mapúan Idol, a singing competition based from the famous American Idol, aims to develop the passion and skills of those students who are singers at heart, “bathroom singers”, and music enthusiast. All contestants in these two competitions had gone through first and second screening held last month of May and June.
Another activity is the TechnoPreneurship. It is an international conference which will be conducted by the Mapúa Center for Career and Services (CCS). Lastly, an Acquaintance Party will be held on the last day of the event. The activity aims to build rapport and camaraderie among the upcoming freshmen students and the senior batches as well. For the students to enjoy more, the Council will also be providing a free concert with the participation of Gracenote and Pedicab. These two events will be held at the Mapúa Gymnasium, Manila.
On the other hand, the Council will also be conducting a General Orientation for all Freshmen Students on the first day of the week. They will be oriented with the school facilities, school system, school organizations, school activities, and many others. This also aims to enlighten them about the Mapúan life and how they can survive it.
More food concessionaires and organization fun booths will be participating in line with the celebration. For more details of the event, below is the tabulated set of activities with the schedule and venue.
