According to Schmidt, Pacquiao will join fellow Filipino boxing legend Gabriel “Flash” Elorde in the roster of honorees.
“The National Boxing Hall of Fame recognizes boxers from anywhere in the world if they have significance to the United States of America,” Schmidt shared during the event.
He also noted that Pacquiao has been under consideration for the recognition for some time.
The induction ceremony is expected to take place in Los Angeles, California. This upcoming recognition adds to Pacquiao’s growing list of international honors. In June 2025, he was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in New York as part of its 2025 class.
Pacquiao is widely known for his record-breaking career. According to Guinness World Records, he holds the record for the most boxing world titles across different weight divisions, with eight championships to his name.
Throughout his career, he secured titles in divisions including Flyweight, Super Featherweight, Lightweight, and Super Welterweight, earning belts from major organizations such as the WBC, IBF, WBO, and The Ring.
