Manila Police District (MPD) confirmed that the man in uniform who slapped a delivery man along Roxas Boulevard is NOT a cop, Manila Bulletin reports.

The viral video was uploaded by Hayley Catacutan and shared by Top Gear Philippines that quickly spread like wildfire. Many Netizens were appalled by the manโs attitude as the video clearly captured how he slapped the delivery man twice.
As narrated by the witnesses, the altercation started when the delivery man accidentally sideswiped Gaylord Santos’ side mirror and didn’t acknowledge it right away until he was cornered by Santos.
Meanwhile, chief Supt. Albert Barot (MPD-Ermita Police Station-MPD-PS5) said that he saw and reviewed the video and is sure that the man identified as Gaylord Santos is NOT a Manila Police officer. He further stated that the patch on the manโs uniform is not MPDโs patch.
The report further stated that the younger sister of the delivery man also commented on the Facebook post and confirmed the said incident.
In her comment, she mentioned that her brother (deliveryman) was deeply sorry for what happened. However, despite the apology, the alleged cop continued cursing and when asked to give his name, Gaylord refused to do so.
Furthermore, GMA News TVโs Balitanghali interviewed the Land Transportation Officer spokesperson Jason Salvador last March 15 and stated that Santos’ drivers license might be revoked. He also added that the ย vehicle with plate number UEQ 399 doesnโt belong to Gaylord but to a woman, Manila Bulletin stated.
LTO already issued a summons to Santos and the car owner to provide an explanation of the said incident.
Just like what Spider-Man said, with great power comes great responsibility. We’ve seen a lot of road rage incidents and revoking their drivers licenses isn’t enough. The LTO must implement rules that are stricterย but, on the other hand, must be followed diligently.
Discipline is the key.
Could he really be impersonating a police officer? Hopefully, this gets solved as soon as possible, as his attitude was completely unacceptable.
What are your thoughts about this?ย
Time to cull the bad eggs. Revoke the license of the Gaylord Santos or at least suspend it for around 3 years and until he get professional anger management treatment. Then make this a policy (ganyan na sa mga 1st world country hindi ba pwede adapt natin dito?) Grabe nga traffic, arogante pa mga driver truly chaotic na land travel sa Pilipinas, specifically, Metro-Manila. The LTO should really professionalize the issuance of drivers’ license. Inculcation that driving the thoroughfares of the Philippines is a PRIVILEGE, NOT A RIGHT ! Personally, I detest driving to Metro Manila, if it is not truly necessary I do not drive to Metro Manila,
