Man Apprehended at Chinese Border with 94 iPhones Strapped on Him
There seems to be big money in smuggling iPhone 6 handsets in China. A man attempted to smuggle 94 iPhone 6 units, all strapped on his body, when he was apprehended by the Chinese customs at the Futian Port in China.
According to this report, the iPhone 6 devices were strapped on his body, legs, and groin. From the images that surfaced the Internet, it looks like he used duct tape and packaging tape to strap the phones on him.
His weird walk and posture was the giveaway that lead to the suspicion of the customs officers. Furthermore, the man set off the metal detector alarm at the port in a strange manner.
Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are available in China, which were launched there in mid-October. However, the cost of the latest iPhone handsets in that country are reportedly at thousands of dollars for a unit.
It is unknown where the man purchased the 94 iPhone units.
Apple iPhone are somewhat a symbol of luxury. Having only one tags you as someone well-off. Thus, having more exudes lavishness. In the past, a man used 99 iPhone 6 units to propose to his girlfriend. Sadly, he got turned down.
