We all love Christmas shopping and celebrating the holidays with family, friends, and loved ones. However, the unavoidable holiday rush and long hours spent on the road can be exhausting. With that, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced its adjusted operations to better serve commuters during the holidays.

According to DOTr, the Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) is extending its operating hours from December 9 to 30. Starting December 9, the LRT-2’s last train service from Antipolo Station will be at 10:00 PM, while the last train service from LRT-2 Recto Station will be at 10:30 PM.
Then, the LRT-2 will implement shortened hours on December 24 (Christmas Eve) and December 31 (New Year’s Eve). The adjusted schedules are as follows:
December 24, 2025 (Christmas Eve):
- Last train from LRT-2 Antipolo Station: 8:00 PM
- Last train from LRT-2 Recto Station: 8:30 PM
December 25, 2025 (Christmas)
- Last train from LRT-2 Antipolo Station: 10:00 PM
- Last train from LRT-2 Recto Station: 10:30 PM
December 31, 2025 (New Year’s Eve):
- Last train from LRT-2 Antipolo Station: 7:00 PM
- Last train from LRT-2 Recto Station: 7:30 PM
Regular operations will resume on January 1, 2026.
Meanwhile, the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) will implement a shortened train schedule on December 24 and 31, 2025, as well as adjusted hours for December 25, 2025 and January 1, 2026. The adjusted schedules are as follows:
December 24, 2025 (Christmas Eve) and December 31, 2025 (New Year’s Eve):
- Last train from North Ave – 7:45 PM
- Last train from Taft Ave. – 8:23 PM
December 25, 2025 (Christmas) and January 1, 2026 (New Year’s):
- First trip from North Ave. and Taft. Ave. – 6:30 PM
- Last trip from North Ave. – 10:30 PM
- Last trip from Taft Ave. – 11:09 PM
