Traffic in Metro Manila has been so bad that a religious rally and rain (on separate occasions) can stop a nation’s capital and reduce it to a widespread gridlock. What can we do to improve it? Elect better politicians? Move to the province? Upgrade the public transportation system?
Experts from the University of the Philippines believe that an improved public transportation system is the key to solving traffic. Specifically, an improved railway network.
There are only four train lines in Mega Manila. Prof. Primi Cal of the UP School of Urban and Regional Planning proposes 20 train lines to correct the traffic situation. Check out Prof. Cal’s proposal below:
