Now that we’ve entered the second half of the year and life is bound to get busier and busier by the day, this is your reminder to take care of your mental health. If in case you need help or you need someone to talk to but, for some reason, you can’t contact your friends and family, you may want to save the National Center for Mental Health Crisis Hotline. If you’re wondering if it works, netizen Jecka Taytactac shares her experience with the hotline in a now-viral Facebook post.
In the post, which has now been shared more than 79,000 times, Tayactac shares how she dialed the Crisis Hotline when she came across the hotline on her social media feed.

She says that it only took a less than a minute for someone to answer her call. And though she was shy to talk at first, especially since she didn’t know what to say. But the person on the other line was said to be very patient, asking her name and why she called.
In the photos accompanying Tayactac’s post, it shows a screenshot of their call which lasted more than 20 minutes.
Tayactac goes on to say that she had a good experience with the hotline, and encouraged people to use it, too.
At the end of the post, Tayactac reminded everyone that the Crisis Hotline should not be used for pranks or for entertainment.
In the comments, she also shared a statement from the NCMH Crisis Hotline:

In such cases, we recommend dialing our 1553 numbers (1553, 1800-1888-1553, and 0919-057-1553).Please note that if you are registered or subscribed to an unlimited call promo, your calls will be limited to 12 minutes per call. We suggest redialing if your call is disconnected.
