Pizzulu just launched a few weeks ago and there are days when it is sold out. Many are raving about this Italian-style brick-oven pizza and we got a taste!
From the makers of Aperitif and Zoo Clothing, Pizzulu is a new food venture by sisters Karla, Kim, Kat, and Kamille Zulueta with Kat’s husband Paolo Melgarejo and Kim’s fiance Miguel Alegre. They shared that they were looking for a new business concept during the lockdown and had come up with Pizzulu that specializes in brick-oven pizzas that are made Italian-style. Upon checking the market, they knew that there is a high demand for food delivery and they launched the brand.
With 9 premium flavors to choose from, Pizzulu makes sure that all the ingredients used in each pizza are carefully chosen to adhere to the high standards.
We got to try the Shrimp & Roasted Garlic Pizza and the Four Cheese Pizza. Compared to other pizza brands out there, Pizzulu has the softest pizza dough we tried. The Four Cheese Pizza is made of bechamel sauce, mozzarella cheese, smoked gouda, cheddar cheese, and bleu cheese. You can also opt to add their house truffle honey that can perfectly balance the saltiness of the cheeses.

Shrimp & Roasted Garlic Pizza, on the other hand, is made of garlic cream, mozzarella, peeled shrimps, shrimp oil, parsley, and roasted garlic cloves. Comparing to other shrimp pizzas that I have tried, Pizzulu had perfected cooking the pizza without overcooking the shrimps. The Shrimp Oil and Roasted Garlic Cloves compliments each other without overpowering the other.
The 12″ pizzas don’t come in perfectly round shapes because they are hand-tossed and lovingly made by the Pizzulu team. Other must-try flavors are the black truffle mushroom, spinach & artichoke, and prosciutto & arugula. Prices start at Php444 and can be ordered via their website pizzulu.com. They can accommodate personal or third-party pick-ups at their Mandaluyong commissary and payments can be made via PayPal, BPI, or Lyka gems.
