Reese Lansangan bumped into Carly Rae Jepsen in Japan and apparently, it was an unexpected yet destined encounter!
In an Instagram post, the OPM artist shared photos and videos of them together with a vinyl copy of “Time Well Spent”. Lansangan also told the story behind it in the caption. “Meeting @carlyraejepsen completely by chance, at the same spot she shot her “Run Away With Me” music video, while I was carrying the only copy of my “Time Well Spent” vinyl that I got to bring here, has by far been the craziest thing that’s happened to me in Tokyo.”

As a big fan of the “Call Me Maybe” singer, she also shared that she was just hunting for Carly Rae Jepsen’s LPs in Tower Records a couple of days before they met. “We had a lovely chat, told her I just watched her in Summer Sonic (and in Manila before COVID), and that she inspires many women to write music that’s fun, honest, and at times super coy in the best way possible,” Lansangan continued.
Then, she handed a gift to her idol. She wrote, “I told her she could keep my vinyl and she said ‘Are you sure I can keep it? What a great gift!’ Meeting such a brilliant songwriter on the streets of this city IS THE GIFT!!!”
“Until your next concert, I’ll be there in the audience again,” Lansangan concluded her post.
