Undeniably, the members are talented and hardworking artists, each showing passion and dedication to their craft. This also shows how they are a breadwinner in their respective families.

In a 33-minute vlog with It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda, the members shared their stories as breadwinners and why they continue to work hard in a highly competitive industry.

“Ako po, hindi naman kami mayaman, [pero] buong puso ‘yung binibigay sa family (We may not be financially well-off before, but I pour my whole heart to my family),” FELIP said, adding that he only wanted to provide his family a comfortable life.

The Fake Faces rapper emphasized that he wasn’t helping his family out of obligation, but rather as a way of saying thank you for providing for him ever since he was little.

Similarly, Josh Cullen revealed that he has been a breadwinner to his family ever since he lived independently. He recalled doing side hustles to earn more money apart from being a trainee.

“Iniisip ko siya as something na blessing [bilang breadwinner] na may pinagkukuhanan [ako ng pera] lagi. Unlike before, na kapag wala, nakatunganga lang kami. Dilat lang mga mata namin, hindi kakain. Ngayon thankful ako na may sobra pa (I think of being a breadwinner as a blessing, a constant source of income. Unlike before, when we had nothing, we would just stare blankly. Our eyes were wide open, but our stomachs were empty. Now I’m thankful that there’s more than enough),” the 31-year-old singer-songwriter reflected.

For Stell, his eyes were opened to the harsh realities of the world when he saw how hardworking his parents were just to be able to provide for them.

“Ginawa ko lahat para makapagprovide, until mabigyan ako ng chance—itong SB19. Sabi ko, kapag naging successful ako as an artist, talagang doon ko talaga gagawin ‘yung best ko (I did everything to provide, until I got this chance—SB19. I said, when I become a successful artist, that’s when I’ll really give my best),” said the The Voice Generations coach.

He also admitted that there were times when it felt difficult and tiring to become a breadwinner, but he will always be reminded of the reasons why he started and why he is working hard in life.

Meanwhile, Pablo admitted that he hasn’t fully grasped the concept of being a breadwinner since he and his siblings rely on each other to provide and create music together.

“Masasabi ko po na hindi ko po maangkin ‘yung pagiging breadwinner, but siguro kaming magkakapatid, share kami dun sa bread to help the family (I can’t say that I’m the sole breadwinner, but as siblings, we share the responsibility of providing for the family),” the SB19 leader pondered.

Finally, Justin’s idea of being a “breadwinner” is not solely about providing financial help but being able to share a stronger bond with his family.

He also emotionally revealed that his mother is suffering from a condition called “scleroderma,” an autoimmune disease that involves the hardening and tightening of the skin and other areas of the body. Despite his mother’s condition, he was able to see her brighten up and become stronger.

“Doon ko na-realize ‘yung nabigay ko hindi lang financial, but the happiness na proud po sila sa akin. Bihira ko na po silang makita na mag-away (It was then that I realized that I didn’t just provide financially, but I also brought them happiness because they’re proud of me. I rarely see them argue anymore),” the surreal singer noted.

On December 7, the P-pop boy group bagged “Best Performance by a Group” and “Best Dance/Electric Recording” for their song Gento at the 37th Awit Awards.

Finally, for SB19 fans and moviegoers, their song MAPA will be featured in Vice Ganda’s drama-comedy film And the Breadwinner is…, which is one of the official entries to the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival
