Singer-songwriter Moira Dela Torre took to our comments section to respond to one netizen’s ~not-so-nice~ comment that refers to both the artist’s weight and former relationship.

In an article published on August 6, WhenInManila.com wrote about Dela Torre’s stunning floral photoshoot for Zalora’s e-magazine, Zalora /Covers. And while Moira’s fans swarmed our Facebook comments section about this article with messages of love, awe, and support, one netizen commented:
“Konting push nalang, yan [na] ba talaga katawan mo ngayon? Not to offend ha..Ms. Moira. Para aware kana, you know mga lalaki katawan din [tinitignan].”
(Just a bit more push. Is this really your body now? Not to offend, Ms. Moira. Just so you’re aware, you know men look at bodies too.)
But to the netizen’s surprise (and everyone else’s), Moira herself responded. But in true Moira fashion, of course! Read the artist’s beautiful, inspiring response here:
“Thank you po. But not to offend din po, pero kung magpapapayat pa man ako, gagawin ko po para sa sarili ko, and not just so I could keep a guy. At the end of the day, every person deserves someone who can love them and be faithful to them in all their phases, in every season—sickly, healthy, thin or fat. ? I hope you’re eating well and that whoever you’re with know your value and your worth whatever size you are.”

Moira’s fans rallied behind her, praising her response with comments like “very well said,” “best reply ever,” and many more agreeing to her sentiments.
Moira Dela Torre tied the knot with Jason Hernandez, a fellow singer-songwriter, in 2019. Last May 31, 2022, the pair released a statement announcing their separation. Hernandez admitted to being unfaithful during the marriage. He wrote, “I believe that she deserved to know the truth rather than continue down a ‘peaceful’ but dishonest path.”
