Last July, pictures of a Japan in forest fireflies season went viral, and now it’s sea fireflies taking over the internet.
Published by photography company Tdub Photo on their website, the magical photos feature bio-luminescent shrimp, or most commonly known as sea fireflies, or umihotaru in the local tongue. These images were shot by photographers Trevor Williams and Jonathan Galione in Okayama, Japan, where these rare, light-emitting creatures can be found.
