KC Concepcion may not be that visible on television and movies lately, but she sure has been using her time for a very good cause. She had a packed schedule recently in the province of Maguindanao, where she visited World Food Programme’s (WFP) School Meals and Nutrition Support projects in the municipalities of Radjah Buayan and Upi.
KC is WFP Philippines’ National Ambassador Against Hunger since 2008 and has been doing fundraising activities to promote #ZeroHunger. She has also previously organized fundraisers for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan in November 2013 and the Nepal Earthquake in 2015.

While in Maguindanao, KC witnessed the signing of a partnership agreement between WFP Philippines and the local government in Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) to work together to achieve food security and nutrition.
She spent a lot of time with schoolchildren in the area and even helped their mothers and school staff in preparing the nutritious meals that will be fed to them as part of the school meals program.
KC’s recent WFP-related activities is perfectly timed, March being National Women’s Month. Another proof that women make change work for women (this year’s theme). She also interacted with women in Maguindanao, mostly mothers, whose babies and children are enrolled in WFP’s nutrition program to help prevent malnutrition and eradicate hunger.
KC is set to host the Binibining Pilipinas 2017 pageant next month. She also hosted the pageant last year.
