The COVID-19 pandemic has definitely hit our economy hard. Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) have had it especially rough with no means to keep their businesses afloat.
Though we are sure areas all over the country have had it hard, one particularly hard-hit area in the Metro has been Aguirre Avenue in BF Homes, Paranaque. This once-bustling street is much quieter now because of the pandemic. Sadly, this means that many businesses have had to close down.
Facebook page Anonymous Incorporated posted a series of photos last night showcasing what parts of Aguirre currently look like. A lot of businesses have closed down, including spas like Sesitra Day Spa and Healing Palm Spa, and barbershops like Suave and Blackdoor.
Fairly new places like Alamat have also closed down before we were able to enjoy them to the fullest. Even places that have been around for longer, like Bottle Run (my favorite place to get my alcohol supply) and The Penthouse (where my friends and I go for some quick retail therapy) have not been safe from the pandemic.
“Deferred payment is not enough for MSMEs sirs/mams,” the page said in its caption. “I am sure this is happening everywhere and not only in BF Homes, Parañaque. Think about it. Damay ang Mayor’s Permit collection, BIR, SSS at marami pang iba dyan next year.”
