With Season 2 now in the works and bound to premiere on October 11, we can only gush and speculate what we’ll be expecting for Archie and the Gang! WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD.
We were left with a sudden death of two vital characters, a ‘change of heart’ for one (start of “civil war”?), a new relationship bound to break (hold on tight, BugHead!) – who knows what could happen?!
A Riverdale Fans page on Facebook shared a series of photos of the cast members behind the scenes during filming.
Spotted here is Camila Mendes, who plays Veronica Lodge, in a white dress that could pass as a wedding gown. Is she getting married?!
Because the rest of the cast appears to be well-dressed for a formal occassion, too!
Riverdale ladies Cheryl Blossom (Madeleine Petsch), Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart) and Josie McCoy (Ashleigh Murray) are donning royal blue gowns. Could they be .. bridesmaids?
Of course, our very own handsome Riverdale residents – Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse) and Reggie Mantle (now played by Charles Melton) are in ties and kilts, except for Archie (KJ Apa) who’s donning a bow tie instead. He could pass as a groom – the photo above shows like he’s waiting up front for his bride, with Josie and Valerie Brown (Hayley Law) right beside him. Could it be #Varchie tying the knot?!
Wait, wait – is that Fred Andrews (Luke Perry) we see with Penelope Blossom (Nathalie Bollt)?! The last time we heard, Fred met his death at Pop’s in the season one finale. We can only impose two thoughts: Fred survives the gunshot and two, this is all a dream.
We figured we could confirm the latter inference with this photo of Jason Blossom (Trevor Stines). He was dead right when the show began .. so maybe these behind the scene photos are from a dream sequence, similar to the 50’s inspired scene in Episode 7: In A Lonely Place? We’ll only find out when Riverdale returns to the CW this October!
