Little India: Superb All Vegan Indian Cuisine

Little India

Dal Fry – Php145

Dal Fry is a dish of cooked yellow lentils flavored with freshly ground spices. This is another one of their bestsellers.

Little India

Palak Paneer – Php210

Palak Paneer is made of homemade cottage cheese cooked with creamy spinach sauce. This is also one of their bestsellers.

Little India

Veggie Meat Korma – Php240

Veggie Meat Korma consists of vegetable meat cooked with milk, nuts, raisins and mild spices. I really love this one. It has that absolute creaminess that I haven’t tasted before in a soup or in any Indian dish for that matter.

Little India

Mixed Vegetable Curry – Php145

Mixed Vegetable Curry is a dish of mixed vegetables cooked in creamy curry sauce.

Of course, they have Little India’s bread to pair this with. We had Aloo Paratha and Paneer Paratha which are stuffed with vegetables.

Little India

Aloo Paratha – Php40

Little India

Paneer Paratha Php55

Though they already have bread, they also have rice. We had Tomato Rice and Vegetable Biryani for our rice dishes.

Little India

Tomato Rice Php110

Little India’s Tomato Rice is rice cooked with tomatoes and tempered with spices. What I love about this dish is that it’s not too hot, but the spicy flavour still gives this rice dish that extra “kick.” You can actually request how you prefer them to season your dish upon ordering.

Little India

Vegetable Biryani – Php235

Vegetable Biryani is their bestseller in the rice dishes and consists of rice and assorted fresh vegetables cooked with spices, butter and yogurt. I highly recommend you try this one.

Of course, every menu will always have dessert.

Little India

Gajar Halwa – Php60

Mr. Raj offered us Gajar Halwa (carrot pudding cooked with fresh milk, nuts and butter).

Little India

Kesar Pista Kulfi – Php95

We also had Kesar Pista Kulfi, which is homemade Indian ice cream made of fresh milk, saffron and pistachio. To all those who are absolute lovers of sweets but are sugar-conscious, I recommend you try Kesar Pista Kulfi and be amazed by how unique this Indian ice cream is.

What I love about their dishes is that they didn’t tweak a single Indian dish to adapt to our Filipino tastebuds. You can taste the perfect fusion of spices highlighting each and every single dish. Full of flavours, but not too overpowering and, as Mr. Raj says, “It is eating healthy Indian cuisine, guilt-free.”

Little India

Thank you Mr. Raj, Ms. Mona and family for the warm welcome.

Everything at Little India was indeed guilt-free: from the appetizers to the main courses to the dessert.

Little India just celebrated their 1st year anniversary last August 8. The restaurant was named Little India because Mr. Raj, a native of India, wanted to introduce the Indian culture and community to Manila by catering authentic but healthy Indian cuisine – the first restaurant in Manila that serves all vegan Indian cuisine.

Who says being healthy comes at a high price? Not with the spice – Little India style.
