Have you seen the Mar Roxas campaign ads? His fist bumping and collection of celebrities, body-bumping etc? From the comments of netizens, they are downright cringe-worthy. Some comments were saying that he seems “plastic” and he was “trying too hard” and some even say that his good image has been wiped out by the annoying political campaigns.
Just like Miyako Izabel, she shares her opinion on why Mar Roxas could win if he would re-do his political campaigns. She says he should “stop making the poor love him” and to “find himself and be true.”

Where are your intelligent political advisers and smart media publicists? They are not helping you at all.
Fire them, and ask for refunds. They are ruining your image instead, and they make you look funny and pitiful. You should be all brains. Focus on institutional changes. Talk about charter change for economic and political reforms. Embrace the vote-getting Federalism not the hated, indefensible “Matuwid na Daan.” Think of brilliant solutions to Moro, CPP/NPA/NDF, and Lumad problems.
Tackle Philippine concerns intelligently. Invoke science, technology, and engineering when you talk. You have a Wharton degree in Economics. Act like a tech-savvy expert. Intellectualize every national issue. Target the educated and thinking voters. They are your votes. Walk their talk. They can understand you.
The poor will not support you, unless you will do something great like denouncing the oligarchs in the Philippines even though you are an Araneta. If you really want to be the president of the country, targeting the oligarchy can help you win. Among the presidential candidates, you are the safest one many Filipino voters can comfortably support. Redo your campaign strategy. Stop bumping fists and slamming bodies. They look funny as in trying hard-funny. That is not you. You should be holding a pen and a notepad instead while thinking what is good for the country. Be an intellectual, a brilliant one.

She is right but at this stage, it won’t do any good. Thanks to social media, it is now a daunting task for anybody in his marketing to change the people’s view of him.

This is where we’re at. Let’s face it. Pinoys like showbiz. So, we rely on campaign ads. It’s time to look beyond that and research on the candidates platforms. Ads are ads. We know it’s trying to sell something. But that’s that. If we want to make an educated vote, research and read up. Don’t stop at ads.
Smart media publicist ? Political adviser? These are old school approach in proping your image to court the Filipinos voters. Mayor Duterte relied heavily on his performance, Integrity, strong leadership and track records to showcase his presidential aspiration. In fact he even in so many times projected himself to be a reluctant candidates.
He is a shrewd marketer who knows how to package himself. His timing is perfect in so many aspect that his rivals are caught napping in the pansitan. His strategies in staging his declaration to run not in the last minutes of official filing but at the last opening as substitution for PDP’s Laban is liken to a three pointers shot in the dying seconds of a basketball game. And all of these are done free of charge with nationwide coverage.
But what astonishing is his openess about his personal life since Filipinos don’t mind voting for a philandering husband. His admission of violating human rights to protect the people against crime struck hard to the senses of Filipinoss across all sector of the society be they are in the class A, B, C, D or E because at one time or another, they are themselves a victim; and they hope Duterte may bring them speedy justice and hopefully, a peaceful society. And all of these are free of charge in the main stream media, social media and from all of us supporter,
His master stroke is his refusal to accept fundings to seek the presidency. This shall emancipate him from the burden of utang na loob and therefore he doesn’t have to repay any debt when he is already the President. All of these endear him the more to the people. This is how smart and intelligent Duterte is. Comes the next survey, Duterte might hit the majority and no matter how Mar, Grace, Binay & Merriam do to catch up, it will be too late.
