In case you failed to catch wind of the news last year, Lea Salonga is part of the rebooted “Pretty Little Liars” series that’s scheduled to air this year.
“Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin” is going to star an all-new cast and take place in an all-new setting, with a darker and more terrifying story than the original show. It picks up where “Pretty Little Liars” left off, 20 years into the future, where a group of teen girls now find themselves “tormented by an unknown ‘Assailant’ and made to pay for the secret sin their parents committed two decades ago, as well as their own.”
Lea will be portraying Elodie, the overbearing mother of character Minnie (played by Malia Pyles), who is the youngest of the new “Little Liars.” Minnie spends most of her time online after experiencing a childhood trauma, and Elodie does whatever she can to protect her.

It was last September 2021 when the Broadway star revealed on Instagram that she was cast for the new series. “The moms have descended upon the town of Millwood! And we have secrets and lies of our own (can’t let the children have all the fun),” she wrote at that time.
Other young talents part of the reboot are Bailee Madison, Chandler Kinney, Maia Reficco, and Zaria, who will be playing the roles of Imogen (a teen mom), Tabby (an aspiring filmmaker), Noa (cynical high school track star), and Faran (a talented ballerina determined to get out of Millwood) respectively.
“Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin” is being helmed by “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (CAOS)” and “Riverdale” creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa together with the former staff writer of “CAOS.” It will premiere on HBO Max this summer.
