In an interview with OMNI Television, Lara revealed that she is now working as a preschool teacher.

“Preschool teacher ako, meron akong four classes ng preschool. After nun out-of-school care. Iba’t iba ‘yung age group na nahahawakan ko (I’m a preschool teacher; I handle four preschool classes. After that, I supervise out-of-school care. I get to work with different age groups) which is good too kasi masarap ‘yung feeling na iba-ibang level ng bata ‘yung nakakasama ko, nakakausap ko (it feels good to interact and talk with kids of various developmental levels),” she said.

She also revealed that she wanted to pursue teaching, which prompted her to move to Canada with her husband, Marco Alcaraz.

“Hindi ko alam na in demand ‘yung mga teachers. Nung nag-decision lang kami kung anong kukunin ko na course sabi ko lang talaga gusto kong maging preschool teacher, gusto kong maging ECE (Early Childhood Educator) so parang tinuloy ko lang ‘yung pangarap ko (I didn’t know that teachers were in demand. When we were deciding what course I should take, I simply said that I wanted to be a preschool teacher, I wanted to be an ECE, so I just pursued my dream),” she shared.

In June 2025, the former beauty queen celebrated a significant academic milestone as she completed her Early Childhood Education course in Vancouver, Canada. She graduated with distinction.

“Leaving behind our careers and the life we knew in the Philippines was not easy, but we chose to follow a dream that had been in our hearts long before our boys were born. God has not only answered that prayer—He has done far more than we could have imagined, and He continues to work in us and through us,” she said.
