The classic coconut-based Filipino liquor, lambanog, ranked second in the Top 79 Spirits in the World by TasteAtlas, receiving a 4.4 star rating. Scotland’s Speyside Scotch topped the list with the same star rating as lambanog.
The online food guide described lambanog as a clear, colorless, quite strong spirit with the usual alcohol content of around 40% ABV. It is made from the fermented sap of the coconut palm traditionally produced and enjoyed in the Quezon province.

“Apart from the classic version, modern varieties are often tinted, sweetened, and flavored. Lambanog is traditionally enjoyed neat, usually as a shot, but it also blends well in cocktails and mixed drinks,” it added.
Following lambanog on the list were Sctoland’ Islay Scotch, Serbia’s Viljamovka, and France’s Armagnac. See full list below:
