LOOK: Lakbay Museo Has Reopened With New IG-Worthy Spots

Now that both indoor and outdoor theme parks have opened to the public, the immersive and selfie-worthy Lakbay Museo has reopened its doors as well!

In case you’re not yet familiar with Lakbay Museo, it’s an interactive millennial-style museum that lets you “travel” the whole country in just two hours! Since we haven’t had the opportunity to travel around for the last two years, this is the perfect opportunity to satisfy your wanderlust.

The museum officially reopened last November 10. They’ve added a whole lot more Instagrammable spaces that will let you easily add new entries to your travel albums. Even if you’ve had the opportunity to visit Lakbay Museo before the lockdowns, their newest offerings are worth a few more visits.

Some of our favorite new spaces are the Mango Rave (which highlights one of our favorite fruits), the Empanada Dream (one of my favorite Ilocano dishes), and the huge “Philippines” signage in front of the “Barasoain Church”.

It was also extra fun to check out the Filipino food replicas all around the museum. It is such a great opportunity to learn more about our colorful culture! Of course, the stylish photos you get are a huge bonus.

We’re sure you’d also enjoy checking out the “pool of rice” if you’ve ever dreamed of swimming in bigas.

Lakbay Museo also lets you taste the Filipino culture through their turo-turo booth where you can enjoy Pinoy street food. It’s also perfect for taking a break after hours of taking photos around the museum.

They also revamped the Mayon Volcano into a more millennial color—that’s another spot worthy of the ‘Gram!

If you’ve been wanting to go on a travel spree, a visit to Lakbay Museo is definitely a more convenient and affordable option, especially since they’re offering a special reopening rate of PHP 399 (from PHP 799) for online bookings, and PHP 499 for walk-ins. Take this as your sign to visit Lakbay Museo (safely!) this weekend with the family.
