Entertainment Weekly first reported that the singer has joined the cast and is currently filming in Europe. However, Lady Gaga’s representatives or Netflix have yet to confirm the news.
Previously, the 38-year-old singer-songwriter’s 2011 song “Bloody Mary” gained significant attention after it was used in viral Wednesday-related TikTok edits.
In a 2023 red carpet interview, Jenna Ortega expressed which roles would suit the multi-award-winning actress in season 2.
“I think Mrs. Thornhill and Wednesday had this weird mentor relationship or kind of understood each other in a certain way, so, if Lady Gaga were to be a part, I think it would have to be two monsters that understand each other,” she answered.
Aside from being an iconic figure in music, Lady Gaga has ventured into numerous acting projects, earning multiple accolades. These include appearances in American Horror Story: Hotel, and lead roles in A Star Is Born and Joker: Folie à Deux.
Wednesday is a gothic coming-of-age series that is widely regarded as one of the most-watched English-language Netflix series worldwide. The 2022 supernatural show stars Jenna as the titular character, alongside Gwendoline Christie, Riki Lindhome, Emma Myers, and Percy Hynes White, among others.
The show, which has been officially renewed for a second season, is set to premiere in 2025.
