Following Ogie Diaz’s interview with Robin Padilla who had confirmed the rumored split between his daughter, Kylie, and her husband, Aljur Abrenica, Kylie broke her silence and sent an official statement to 24Oras.
Kylie had said in her statement that her family has been going through the “process of recovering, healing, and moving on” these past months since the rumors began and appealed to the public to respect their privacy.
“Every family goes through a lot of challenges and sometimes we think that it is only the couple that goes through the ordeal. We forget the kids and people that are involved,” she said.
“All we need right now is respect—first and foremost on the decisions we have made as a family and respect for each and every member of our family—to Aljur who is the father of my two wonderful boys, most especially to Alas and Axl who are at this point very fragile, and to our families from both sides who have guided us along the way,” she added.
Kylie and Aljur have agreed to a co-parenting setup for their children, Alas Joaquin and Axl Romeo.
According to Robin, the couple’s split was caused by a third party.

The rumors first started in February 2021 when the mother of two shared a cryptic post on her Instagram stories that read “More selflove, babygirl” and another long text post that talked about finding happiness in being alone.
“The capacity to be alone is the capacity to love. It may look paradoxical to you, but it’s not,” the post read. “It is an existential truth: only those people who are capable of being alone are capable of love, of sharing, of going into the deepest core of another person, without possessing the other, without becoming dependent on the other, without reducing the other to a thing, and without becoming addicted to the other. They allow the other absolute freedom, because they know that if the other leaves, they will be as happy as they are now. Their happiness can’t be taken by the other, because it is not given by the other.”
Fans also allege that she was no longer wearing her wedding ring in her photos at that time.
