Best Places to EAT
Any trip won’t be complete without a food trip of course! To get to know a culture more, one has to experience its food… and lots of it! hihihi When in Kuala Lumpur, the bestest best place for pigging out would be along JALAN ALOR!
It’s the ultimate place for authentic affordable eats! Surrounding it are also affordable inns for backpackers! Jalan Alor is a prime destination itself with all the culinary wonders waiting to be devoured!
I would say that Jalan Alor would be the center of all Asian flavors! Discover food finds from China, India, Indonesia.. from exotic to traditional and beyond! The best place for people with adventurous palettes!

Restoran Muar
Here’s another must try restaurant! Located at the next street after Jalan Alor is where you can find Restoran Muar which is well known when it comes to traditional Malaysian Home Cooking! I’ve read so many good reviews about this place and I was really glad to experience it and to even find out that one of their cooks is actually a Filipina!
MUST Try their most popular dish… CRISPY FRIED EGGS!!
I forgot the name for this dish but basically it’s shredded crunchy “Pechay” with garlic chips! REALLY GOOD!!
Frank with Aling Lucia, the Pinay cook at the famous Restoran Muar
we found this sacred sanctuary inside the hotel we stayed in. It was at this very place where I said prayers and thanked the universe for blessing me with much abundance and surrounding me with much love! As for my birthday wish, I’d rather keep it to myself for now. hihihi
our photo before checking out the hotel.. We’ll miss you Kuala Lumpur! Til then!
I believe that the best thing about this trip aside from the sites, food and great company would be our new set of realizations and lessons learned. Personally, I couldn’t help but compare Malaysia from our own. How I wish we carried the same mind set and cultural pride like them… if only we also had leaders who were concerned with every citizen’s welfare, I bet we wouldn’t be this chaotic and astray as now. This trip served as an eye opener for us, for we were given the chance to catch a glimpse of what our own country should be. By the time we arrived home, once again we were never the same….. =)
We encourage you to visit Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for you’ll surely be enthralled with its mystery and majesty! We promise that you’d come back richer with a mindful of memories and more appreciative about being Asian than ever before. Wonderful how overseas travel is now made very affordable by airlines such as AirAsia! Time for us Filipinos to explore and open our eyes to new cultures and endless possibilities!
I can’t wait to check out AirAsia‘s new promos for our next destination!!
