Filipino Airens are finally going to see Lee Seung Gi perform in the Philippines for the first time during his fan meeting – “Vagabond Voyage in Manila” – this October 12 at the New Frontier Theater, fifteen years after his debut.
Lee Seung Gi started out as a singer back in 2004. His songs “Because You’re My Woman,” “Will You Marry Me,” and “Return” became hits and eventually got him the nickname “Ballad Prince.” In 2005, Lee Seung Gi transitioned into acting. He began appearing in sitcoms as a supporting character before he landed his first lead role in the Korean drama series “Brilliant Legacy” back in 2009.
The singer-actor filmed various commercials throughout the years, released several albums, and starred in many popular Korean dramas such as “My Girlfriend Is A Gumiho,” “King 2 Hearts,” “Gu Family Book,” and “Hwayugi: A Korean Odyssey,” among others. He also hosted talk shows, most notably “Strong Heart,” and was part of variety shows like “1 Night 2 Days.” He did all these while pursuing higher education at Dongguk University and Dongguk Graduate School. Lee Seung Gi’s achievements also led him to be called the “Nation’s Uhm-Chin-Ah,” which roughly translates to “your mother’s friend’s brilliant son who you get compared to.”
His years in the entertainment industry even earned him other national titles such as “Nation’s Little Brother” and “Nation’s Son-In-Law” due to his clean image and positive influence that is well-loved by both fans and brands. Lee Seung Gi also received his most recent nickname – the Triple Threat Entertainer – due to his many talents and success in different fields in the entertainment industry as a singer, actor, and host.
This 2019, Lee Seung Gi’s is busy with his new drama, “Vagabond.” The action-packed drama is currently airing and is receiving positive reviews. Additionally, he is also touring in Asian countries to be able to spend time with his fans in Korea and abroad.
