In a Weverse livestream on June 6 with her co-member Lara, Megan finally addressed fans’ speculations about her sexuality.
“Guys, I’m coming out. I’m bisexual,” Megan announced. Right after the announcement was made, the two members clapped and cheered for each other.
The 19-year-old member admitted that she was scared to come out: “Guys, I came out on Pride Month… so give me that award, girl!”
She is now the second member to open up about her sexuality. In March, Lara revealed that she identifies herself as part of the LGBTQ+ community, calling herself a “fruitcake,” which can be interpreted as queer.
“I knew I was half fruitcake when I was like 8, so I really was wanting everybody,” she said in Weverse. “Honestly, before 8.”
Megan and Lara are members of the multinational girl group KATSEYE, alongside Sophia, Daniela, Manon, and Yoonchae. The group was formed through the 2023 reality show Dream Academy and debuted with the single “Debut,” followed by the viral hit “Touch” a year later.
This year, they released the viral track “Gnarly” ahead of their second EP, Beautiful Chaos, which is set to drop on June 27.
