Kathryn Bernardo, Vilma Santos, Other Celebrities Pay Tribute to Late Ronaldo Valdez

Celebrities paid tribute to veteran actor Ronaldo Valdez, who passed away on December 17. He was 76 years old. 

Kathryn Bernardo posted a series of videos and photos with the actor on her Instagram stories. The two formed a strong bond through the 2022 romantic comedy series 2 Good 2 Be True, where Valdez portrayed the role of “Lolo Sir.” In September, he attended the premiere of A Very Good Girl to support Bernardo.

Alyssa Muhlach, who’s also his 2 Good 2 Be True co-star, shared snaps of them on Instagram stories with the caption, “Always loved, never forgotten, forever missed. Love you, Tito Ron!”

Meanwhile, Gary Valenciano penned a heartfelt letter to Valdez, referring to him as the person he loved to watch and commending his “authenticity.”

“Thank you sir Ronaldo Valdez. I never had a chance to work much with you but in those few moments I spent talking with you, it made me feel blessed to know that I got to meet someone like you. Rest in His peace sir. I know His embrace will always keep you smiling,” he wrote.

Dimples Romana recalled working with the actor. She posted photos from their taping of Maalaala Mo Kaya in 2009. 

“May mga taong sadyang makakapagpabago ng pagtingin mo sa buhay. Tatatak sila sayo hanggang sa huli at kailanman ay hindi mo sila malilimot. Ikaw yun sa akin. At sa napakarami pa naming nagmamahal sayo Lo,” she expressed.

The actress shared how Valdez melted everyone’s hearts with his positive attitude.

She added, “Salute to one of the greatest actors of all time for me. A man who knew how to value not only his work but more importantly every single other person on and off set. Mahal ka namin Lo. Mahal na mahal. Pahinga na po. Patuloy ka naming mamahalin at titingalain.”

His fellow veteran star, Vilma Santos, also paid tribute to him by posting a throwback photo of their scene in the 1981 film Karma.

“Our condolences and prayers. You will be missed. Rest In Peace, my friend,” she wrote.

Aiko Melendez, who played the role of Valdez’s daughter in the 1993 film May Minamahal, remembered her memory with him as an actor and friend.

“Tito Ronaldo. Rest in Peace. Your memories will live on and on… This picture was taken during the filming of one of our iconic movie together ‘May Minamahal.’ He played my father. I’m blessed to experience his generosity as an actor and a friend. You will be missed,” she said.

Sherilyn Reyes also mourned his passing. In an Instagram post, she shared a series of photos of their scenes in the comedy series Bahay Mo Ba ‘To?. 

“T’yo Nene! Tay! Tito Ron! Salamat at nagkaroon ako ng pagkakataong makatrabaho kayo ng ilang taon, makasalubong kayo sa mall ng napakaraming beses… nalulungkot ako Tay. Habambuhay kang magiging si Lolo Sir sa aming pamilya at si T’yo Nene rin sa akin… Paalam Tay! Rest in Peace,” she captioned.

In a separate post, she shared a funny clip of the actor’s scene from the same series to recall their heartwarming moment. 

“Pinaiyak mo kami ng grabe bilang Lolo Sir.. Ikaw ang Lolo Sir namin… pero forever T’yo Nene and Tatay Ron sa akin,” she expressed.

Valdez was known for his roles in several films and television series, including Seven Sundays, The Mistress, Cedie, May Minamahal, Mula Sa Puso, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, and 2 Good 2 Be True.
