Twitter is a never-ending cycle of wild, one thing will trend and then another on the opposite extreme will trend, too. Things get out of hand, celebs get canceled, and people retweet dog photos ad infinitum. Twitter is chaos in an app. And we’re kind of addicted to it. It’s so much fun to just get into the mess.
Well, in the wee hours of the morning this morning, the hashtag #WhiteLivesMatter was trending and many people became worried, especially in the current climate of protests for #BlackLivesMatter. I was worried, to say the least, to see it, cringing at the thought of racists populating the hashtag with some white supremacist propaganda.
Instead, what I found were dozens and dozens of K-pop fancams and photos using the hashtag in order to silence and fight the white supremacists using it!
why is it 8am and i am literally teary eyed that kpop twitter hijacked the #WhiteLivesMatter hashtag to drown out the racism and fill with fancams and petitions like…..never DRAG THEM AGAIN. kpop stans are FOR THE PEOPLE.
