Jodi Sta. Maria has welcomed a new addition to her growing fur family! The actress revealed that she recently adopted an abandoned puppy she found while filming for her upcoming series, “Lavender Fields.”
In an Instagram post, she shared the heartwarming story of her newest fur baby named Zandro, also known as Z. Her post also includes adorable photos of the puppy!
“Hello everyone! Meet the newest member of my fur family โ Zandro or Z!” she began her lengthy post.
Jodi said she found Zandro along with another puppy on top of a concrete barrier at a bridge where they were filming a car chase scene.
“Yesterday sa [at the] taping I noticed a small movement from afar. Hindi ko masyado pinansin kasi nagba-block si Direk Manny ng scene [I didn’t pay much attention because Director Manny was blocking the scene]. So when it was time for us to move to position for our car chase scene, lo and beholdโฆ may dalawang puppy [there were two puppies] just a little over a month old on top of a concrete barrier sa tulay [at a bridge],” she recalled. “They were scared and didnโt know what to do obviously they had been abandoned.”
Worried that the puppies might fall, she emphasized that she had to get out of the vehicle to rescue them and put them safely inside the car.
“Sinakay sa kotse at isinama muna sa car scene. O di ba instant artista sila? [I put them inside the car and included them in the car scene. Instant celebrities, aren’t they?]” she quipped.
According to Jodi, the chocolate brown puppy was adopted by director Manny and named Lav. The actress also shared that she named her newly adopted puppy after her co-star Albert Martinezโs character.
“After pack-up, I headed home with the newest member of our family. You are safe now little Z. Mommy will love and protect you,” she added.
She concluded her post by encouraging pet owners to have their fur babies spayed or neutered and become more responsible.
“If you have pets, you can have them spayed or neutered if you donโt want them to bear offsprings. May low-cost na spaying/neutering naman po or sometimes libre pa [There is low-cost or free spay/neuter]. I do hope na maging responsible po tayo sa pag-aalaga ng pets [I do hope we’ll be responsible in taking care of pets].”
