Critically-acclaimed pop artist Jesse McCartney is to hold his debut Manila concert at the New Frontier Theater tonight.
In 2004, Jesse McCartney launched his solo career with his lead single “Beautiful Soul” from his debut album of the same title. The title track peaked at number 16 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts in the United States.
He has since recorded three more albums: Right Where You Want Me (2006), Departure (2008), and In Technicolor (2014). His latest release is a entitled “Wasted”, which comes with a soap opera-like music video showcasing his comedic acting chops.
McCartney mentions that he is excited to finally meet his large Filipino fanbase at his show tomorrow. He says, “One of the things I realized by looking through data and at my inbox is that a lot of people who are direct messaging me are from the Philippines. [They’re] saying, ‘Hey! You need to come here!’” “I’m happy to be here. I really am,” he continues.
He also has a few surprises up his sleeve for the fans coming to see him later. He mentions, “We’re going to add a couple of different things. I can promise that there won’t be a shortage of hit songs people grew up listening to. I’m also going to play new ones.”
“It will be a fun show. I’m looking forward to it,” McCartney adds.
