Actor Jericho Rosales is stepping into one of his most challenging roles yet as Manuel L. Quezon in Quezon, the third and final installment in TBA Studios’s Bayaniverse trilogy, directed by Jerrold Tarog.
Following Heneral Luna and Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral, the film dives into the story of the second Philippine president, who served from 1935 to 1944.

Set for release on October 15, 2025, Quezon is more than just a historical biopic for Echo. For him, the movie also carries a bigger mission: to bring Filipinos back to watching films on the big screen.
“We just need to know where to spend it. And if you watch movies, you’re supporting culture,” Jericho shared during a card launch. “Watching films—whether it’s about history, athletes, or the struggles of everyday Filipinos—you’re actually supporting the industry. The history and culture in the industry are alive, therefore more work, more business, and more things to talk about. It just goes beyond cinema.”
Jericho believes cinema isn’t just about entertainment—it’s about community.
“Let’s romanticize cinema again because it’s part of our culture,” he explained. “Being in the cinema makes you feel like you’re not alone. The spirit, the comforting feel of watching together with friends or family—it’s a great feeling talaga.”

Beyond its historical significance, Jericho also hopes the film sparks conversations about language and culture—issues highlighted during celebrations like Buwan ng Wika.
“Marami tayong Fil-Am, maraming nakakapanood na baluktot magsalita. Okay lang, as long as naintindihan nila yung Tagalog. Buwan ng Wika focuses on the national language, but it’s also about respecting Cebuano, Ilonggo, and other dialects. Importante na nagkakaintindihan tayo—it’s just about communication.”
Quezon features an all-star cast including Mon Confiado as Emilio Aguinaldo, Romnick Sarmenta as Sergio Osmeña, JC Santos as Manuel Roxas, and Benjamin Alves as the younger Manuel Quezon.
Catch Quezon in cinemas nationwide and maybe, as Jericho hopes, fall in love with the magic of moviegoing all over again.
