Popular teleserye (soap opera) Halik has finally reached its finale last April 26, and it has likewise signaled the end of Jericho Rosales’ stint in teleserye acting.
“I don’t wanna do soaps anymore, and it is not a problem for me,” he said in a press conference for Halik.

He says that he doesn’t want to be labeled as a dramatic actor and that he believes his fans are very much open to watching him take on roles in the action or comedy genre. “I think now that they’ve known me, it’s time to take advantage of the opportunity, na si Jericho isn’t just a dramatic actor,” he said. “He can also do suspense thriller or other new things, new content, para lang pag binalikan n’yo ako, may bago (so that when you watch me again, there’s something new).”
Jericho also revealed that he plans to take a brief break from acting following the many months he spent doing Halik. “Kakanta muna ulit, mag-susulat muna ulit (I will sing again, write again) and play again then when I return by the end of the year, I have something new. I am also looking now for writers to help me for my projects because I have a lot.”
He assures his fans that he won’t be abandoning showbiz, however. “I will never stop acting. With the availability of iWant, Netflix, I feel like there are so many things I can still do.”
“Do I want to stop TV? No. It’s time for me to challenge myself to create something new for myself. Hopefully, it works.”
